LISST - VSF

LISST- VSF | Volume Scattering Function

Submersible
Depolarization

The LISST-VSF is the first autonomous submersible instrument to measure the volume scattering function (VSF) with depolarization. It covers an angular range from 0.094 to 150°, measuring P11, P12, P22, beam attenuation, and scattering.

It uses a 32-ring detector for smaller angles and a rotating eyeball for larger ones.

In-situ measurement of P11, P12 and P22 scattering elements with P11 representing VSF

VSF (P11) measured at small angles (0.09° - 10°) in 32 logarithmic steps

2 detectors with absolute radiant sensitivity calibration and beam attenuation similar to LISST - 100X/200X

Roving Eyeball optics for 1-degree resolution between 15 - 150°, with 4 second sampling rate
